Honey Facial Care Tip

First wash the face with our Propolis Soap. Tie back your hair away from the face and apply a thin layer of unrefined honey all over the face. Let the honey soak for 20-30 minutes. Then wash off the honey with warm water. The honey draws out impurities and puss from the pores of the skin and is a natural face mask to help rid acne. After the honey facial, your skin should feel nourished, soft and clean! You can use this honey facial tip as needed or 3x's a week to help clear up skin impurities.

Honeybee Soap Line

Honey — moisturizes the skin
Propolis — great for problem skin, acne, rashes, skin irritation
Royal Jelly — vitamin rich and nourishing to aging skin

Please check out our Honeybee Soap Line! We have been getting rave reviews from our customers. We can't hardly keep up our inventory to our Wholesalers. We are making triple batches of each soap now, but I think we may have to multiply that by 6- that is how fast they are going. Our Honeybee Soap Line has "specialty" ingredients in them to really help all skin types and all skin problems. The Propolis Soap has kept our son's eczema away. I would love it if our customers would leave a review on our site, but seems some shy away from that- So, please- Share your stories- You can be helping others with the same problem skin, whether dry, rashes, wrinkles, etc... Let us know! We will be coming out with Honey, Royal Jelly and Propolis body butter, lotions, salves, lip balms, sugar scrubs. Keep watching our website.

Evening Show, Shop and Go Event

OK YA'LL- We just got in from our first "evening" craft show event. We really liked it! It went really well! We will definately do this again! It was inside, air conditioned and a beautiful building. We met alot of new people and made friends. We did just as good as our outside morning shows here in Florida and I have to tell you it beats sweating and your products don't sweat either, if you know what I mean. We want to thank Jennifer with Miche handbags for inviting us. We also got to bring 2 tables, so we were happy about that as we were able to display more of our products. For all those thinking about doing a "show," inside events are the way to go and in the evening is nice too.

Evening Show, Shop and Go Event

SCENTSational Soaps will be at Lake Mirror Tower- 130 South Massachusetts Avenue- Lakeland, Florida- AUGUST 6th- 4pm- 9pm. SHOW* SHOP* GO* EVENT with lots of other vendors such as MICHE Bag (unique handbags), Pampered Chef (kitchen utensils), Mary Kay (make-up), etc... Bring your friends and family for a fun shopping evening.

This is our first evening show and we will be along side representives of big companies. We had MICHE Bags representative contact us and ask us if we wanted to attend.
Of course we said yes, you can't miss out of an opportunity to make money and get your name out there. We can only bring one table. Ugh. We are use to bringing almost everything we have with us and that is like 3 tables and an area of something like 10 by 10 or 15 by 15 at most of our craft shows. We will let you all know how it went and if we did good with sales. We enjoy talking to people, so it will be fun to get our products out there. We will hide our extra goodies under the one table, to replenish what is sold. Talk to you all later. Tell us what you think about us being there as a small business owner with other big company rep.s.?

Got Ash? CP Soap Tip

Got Ash? Let's Get Rid Of It.
With CP soap making, sometimes you get white ash on top of your soaps. We believe it gets this way by air hitting the top of your soaps that are not properly covered. It just happens sometimes, no big deal. It doesn't mean your can't use your soap, it is just aesthetically unpleasing to the eye to some.
Lets get rid of it! Easy as 1, 2, 3.

1. You will need Isopropyl Alcohol 91% (Rubbing Alcohol)
2. Old Rag
3. Pour a little (use your own judgement) of the rubbing alcohol on your old rag and wipe it across the top of your soap. It's gone!

Hope you enjoyed this little tip. Let me know if this helped you.

Favorite Food In Ghana, Africa

A little about FuFu with Soup by My Neice.

the bowl is fufu with soup it's made with a very hot spice we all ate out of the same bowl with our right hand and we pinch the fufu to break off a piece and dent it with our thumb to let some of the juice from the soup in than we swallow the fufu without chewing. One of my favorite dishes there. The fufu tastes plain the soup is what has the flavoring. Everymorning you will hear pounding which means someone nearby is making fufu. They boil casava and plantain than when mushy texture they pound it and turn it so till it's like a big ball of dough. They have a couple diff traditional soups that go along with it. Normally every family will eat this at least once a day.

Recipe: Chicken Jollof Rice Ghana

Chicken Jollof Rice Ghana

Ingredients:

2 cups long grain white rice (not parboiled)
4 cups water or broth or a combination (including up to a cup of drained juice from tomatoes)
3 good-sized cloves of garlic (about 1 Tablespoon), minced or crushed
2 cups fresh grated tomatoes, seeded (discard peelings) (OR 2 cups well-drained well-chopped tomatoes, OR 2 cups pureed tomatoes)
1 medium onion, finely chopped (a good cup)
fresh vegetables, about 2-3 cups, such as 1 carrot peeled and diced, frozen green peas, and other vegetables such as bell peppers or green beans (OR substitute frozen mixed vegetables) 1 bay leaf (optional)
1/2 teaspoon black or white pepper (optional)
1 Tablespoon freshly peeled, grated ginger
5 Tablespoons (1/3 cup) of tomato paste
about 1/2 teaspoon of dried ground cayenne pepper (or chopped fresh chili peppers, but be careful because the hotness may vary)
1/3 - 1/2 cup (5 - 8 Tablespoons) peanut or other vegetable oil
2 teaspoons salt or to taste (plain or Adobo or other seasoning salt)
1 teaspoon curry powder (OR thyme, about 1/2 teaspoon)
2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken cubed, or 3 pounds with bones and cut into small pieces, breaking the bones with a heavy cleaver (for example, cut a thigh or drumstick into 2 pieces)
Realistically, you'll probably use frying chicken, but free-range or roasting chicken would be
better.

This version is easily doubled or tripled.

1. First prepare all the ingredients: remove the skin and fat from the chicken and cut it into pieces, gather the spices, chop the onion, grate the ginger, drain and prepare the tomatoes, etc.
2. In a bowl, mix about 1/4 cup of the chopped onions with a little (maybe 1/4 of the garlic and ginger, about 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon black (or white) pepper and 1/8 teaspoon red pepper and stir well. Allow it to marinate for a few minutes.
2. Heat 3 or 4 Tablespoons of oil in a heavy skillet, add a couple of tablespoons of onion and brown the chicken on medium high heat in 2 batches (so you don't crowd them), adding another 1/4 cup of chopped onions and another Tablespoon of oil if necessary with the second batch. As the chicken browns put the pieces into a large roaster or casserole dish (I usually make this in quantity and you may notice that in the first picture above I started with small enameled roasting pan, but had to switch to a larger one before I added the liquid. Make sure your pan will hold all of the chicken, rice, liquid and vegetables!)
3. While you're browning the chicken, put the 4 cups of broth/water/tomato juice into a saucepan with a bay leaf if you're using it and heat to a boil, then keep warm until you need it. Turn the oven on to 350 degrees Farenheit to preheat, and make sure your oven rack is low enough to place your covered roasting pan on it.
4. After all the chicken is browned, add another 3 - 4 Tablespoon of oil, the remaining onion, garlic, ginger, and curry powder or thyme (if using either), and stir fry together for a few minutes, then stir in the tomatoes, tomato paste and pepper, and salt.
5. Add the 2 cups of rice to the roasting pan with the chicken.
6. Pour the heated liquid (broth/water/tomato juice mixture) into the skillet with the tomato paste and tomato and stir to loosen the onion from the pan, then pour then liquid from the pan into the roasting pan, stir well, cover and place in the oven.
7. Cook covered for 15-20 minutes. Remove from the oven once to check rice for doneness and to see if a little more liquid is needed. If so, add a little water or broth. Stir the rice from the outside in as the outside edges will brown faster than the inside. Return to the oven for another 10-15 minutes while you prepare the vegetables.
8. Peel and dice the vegetables and cook separately, either in a microwave or on the stove top.
9. Remove the rice and stir in the vegetables.
10. Garnish as desired.

NOTES: Alternatively, this may all be cooked in a large pot on the stovetop, but beware of burning the rice on the bottom and/or stirring too often and making the rice mushy. Also, the vegetables may be added directly to the rice while it is cooking, or stirred in during the final minutes before it is done.

This is one of those wonderful recipes that tastes even better the day after it was made, and also freezes nicely. In Ghana it is often served with braised cabbage on the side and/or Ghana-style gravy, or shito (hot pepper sauce).

Ghana, Africa

This is my beautiful neice in Ghana, Africa in the ministy work. She brings us back "goodies" from Ghana, like unrefined shea butter, handmade bongo for our son who loves music, handmade Bible covers and more. She visits over there for 6 months and comes back to USA for a few months and back again to Ghana for a few months. She has been doing this for over 3 years now. In Ghana they walk for many miles, some don't have good shoes for walking, so my neice will bring them some over from the USA. It is nice to share things from our country since they share things from thier country. The dress she is wearing was handmade by a woman from Ghana. Look how beautiful it is! My neice has made many friends from Ghana and surrounding areas. The food they prepare is delicious and different. I will post a recipe soon. So keep watching and follow our blogspot. More to come! Oh- have mention alot of our products are made with unrefined shea butter!!

Body Butters

Hi Everyone, 2 weeks ago we had a request from a friend to make body butter for her sunburn and she was peeling already. That can happen in Sunny Florida. So we whipped up a special recipe for her using our body butter. She thanked us so much, it helped her peeling, no scars left and relieved her sunburn pain and healed her skin. We love to hear good feedback, then you know you have a great product. Now she came to us and wanted our company to make a stretch mark body butter for a close friend of hers who is pregnant. So of course we did with excitement. Her friend says she loves it so much and it feels great on her growing belly. The friend also said she tried other stretch mark products that smelled funny, but loves our wonderful smelling stretch mark belly rub body butter.

Here are a few tips to enjoy: Home Remedies for Stretch Marks #1: It is very important to exercise in order to get rid of stretch marks; toning your muscles helps your skin to firm thus preventing stretch marks.

Home Remedies for Stretch Marks #2: Make sure in your diet you are getting plenty of protein and foods rich in Vitamin C and Vitamin E, they promote good tissue growth.

Home Remedies for Stretch Marks #3: Apply SCENTSational Soaps skin care Body Butter Belly Rub for stretch marks. (stretch marks for any part of the body, whether the belly, thighs, buttocks, breast, and arms.)

ABOUT US

HOW WE GOT STARTED: My son, Chad has a disability of Chromosome 15q and is global developmentally delayed. I home school Chad and wanted to do some hands on activities with him. We decided to do a fun project of making soaps together. Everyday after school we go into the kitchen to make up our soaps. The first thing I say is, Who is my Helper? Chad says, I am- I am your helper. Now he comes into the kitchen and says to me- Who's your helper? I say- You are Chad- You are my BIG HELPER! Chad loves to help me stir, add scents and pour into soap molds. Chad also has eczema and I knew that glycerin soaps are the best soaps for your skin and these have helped Chad with his eczema. Our family and friends are hooked on our soaps! We have a huge family and lots of friends who have allergies, sensitive skin, dry skin all types of problems and it has truly helped cleared their skin and keeps their skin soft and silky. GIVE SCENTSational Soaps A TRY! YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID! Check us out soon as we will be featured in the Orange Peel Gazette. We are also in the Spring Issue of the MIRROR, which is for parents with children who have Chromosome 15q. We have a BELIEVE soap bar on our site that for everyone sold $1 dollar goes to IDEAS for research. We hope you can help support Chromosome 15q. Thank you! Sarah- Owner of SCENTSational Soaps

Bubble Bars

Today we am working on making Bubble Bars. We are still tweaking our recipe, so as soon as we are done working on them we will post a picture of them. We always try our new soapies on family and friends first to see if they like them. It seems our bath salts we make work great on problem skin as my son's eczema still stays at bay with these.
